Trouble started brewing as GPT4o’s selected voice “Sky” was sounding eerily similar to Scarlett Johansson, only to be fired up with Sam Altman’s “her” tweet. But what brought about a rollback of the Sky voice from GPT4o was Scarlett Johansson’s public statement about how she was approached by Sam Altman earlier for a partnership which she declined, only to be offered again a few days before release of GPT4o, only to be shocked after its release upon hearing a voice which was similar to hers in more than one aspect. Adobe Lightroom Gets Firefly AI-powered 'Generative Remove' Editing Feature

Adobe is leaving no stone unturned to ride the AI-wave for creators and designers as it brings a new Firefly AI-powered feature “Generative Remove” for its Lightroom users. Claiming to give hobbyists and professional photographers a quick way of editing their photos, the feature intelligently matches the removed area with “pixel perfect generations for high-quality, realistic and stunning results”. Google’s Trillium Chip Set To Increase Performance Of Data Centers Fivefold

Google parent Alphabet on Tuesday unveiled a product called Trillium in its artificial intelligence data center chip family, vying to be one of the few viable alternatives to Nvidia's top-of-the-line processors that dominate the market. Nvidia commands roughly 80% of the AI data center chip market, and the vast majority of the remaining 20% is various versions of Google's TPUs. The company doesn't sell the chip itself, but rents access through its cloud computing platform. The sixth-generation Trillium chip will achieve 4.7 times better computing performance compared with the TPU v5e, according to Google, a chip designed to power the tech that generates text and other media from large models. Not just celebrities but now intelligence agencies are also scared of the impact and effect of deepfakes especially for the upcoming elections. Both foreign and domestic actors could harness the technology to create serious challenges heading into the 2024 election cycle, according to the analysis compiled by the Department of Homeland Security and sent to law enforcement partners nationwide. As the 2024 election cycle progresses, generative AI tools likely provide both domestic and foreign threat actors with enhanced opportunities for interference by aggravating emergent events, disrupting election processes, or attacking election infrastructure. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines also warned Congress about the perils of generative AI during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing last week, saying AI technology can create realistic "deepfakes" whose origin can be concealed. How Walmart is using generative AI

Walmart began deploying generative artificial intelligence late last year to answer customers’ mission-based searches and empower frontline employees with information that enables them to serve customers better and in real time. Generative AI can make connections and serve results to customers with context and personalization, Jon Alferness, chief product officer for Walmart U.S., told Retail Dive in an interview. The technology can also help customers identify what they want to buy and discover new products.
